LES PAYSAGES AMÉNAGÉS DE LA SASKATCHEWAN

TRADUCTION À VENIR…

The designed landscapes of Saskatchewan reflect the cumulative knowledge, history and values of practitioners and the communities and organizations they serve. Saskatchewan landscape designs are borne out of a deep understanding of the extremes that exist in the middle of the continent. Climate, seasonal changes, weather, topography, and the general vastness of the forests and grasslands all influence designed landscapes in Saskatchewan.

Landscape designs are for the people. As Saskatchewan communities grow out of the forests and prairies, landscape architects create spaces for recreation, relaxation and community connection. Whether in small towns dotting the province or in our larger centres, the design of parks has been an important contribution that our landscape architects have made to shape and enhance our communities.

Saskatchewan landscape designs recognize and interpret our indigenous and historic roots. Through careful and thorough research and consultation, our history is made new again in the design of public spaces. Landscape architects routinely collaborate with historians, archaeologists and architects to tease out the stories and create settings for its interpretation.

Landscape designs are for the environment. As our communities grow and change, our natural features are impacted. Landscape architects are creating designs that help to mitigate those impacts. The technical knowledge that Landscape Architects bring to green infrastructure and restoration projects have helped them to become more and more common as the awareness of their environmental benefits are understood by municipalities and government.

Saskatchewan landscape architects seek to design with the environment, and create spaces that enhance and enliven communities. Projects highlighted in the landscape portfolio are just a small representation of their work.

Structures pour ombrage

Description
▶︎ Traduction à venir…
In a sun-scorched location where underground services prevent the growth of trees, we designed these iconic structures to shade sidewalk vendors during Regina's many outdoor summer events. The scale of the structures defines the huge plaza, designed to be full of people during public events. Regina is a city full of artists and this installation bears witness in all seasons to Regina's quirky character.
